ARTIST STATEMENT

Born in Jabalpur, a city located in the heart of India where resplendent marble cliffs and serene Narmada overshadows the landscape. This city has spirituality & mysticism in its air. My restlessness always tempted me to explore the mystique of nature & cosmos, seen or unseen, which I am fascinated with. I reiterate that the mystique of nature, tranquility of temples, Indian philosophy/mythology, occult sciences etc. have influenced my psyche deeply. Painting is my passion, its my life line since childhood and I just can not think of living without it although engineering is my profession! My upbringing and the environment have helped me think in a broader spectrum and pursue the artistic expression on spiritualism and mysticism. And to seek a spiritual experience, I try to invoke the power of color infused with eternal symbols/various forms in my works which I term as symbolic abstract expression of sublime spirituality and mysticism. Abstract expression is a representation of an Artist’s inner-self, his continuous thinking process, his impatience, a turmoil within to create something new and the journey goes on…..!
It brings a kind of satisfaction if a viewer find my art works intimate and intense and say that the translucency of colors on some of the canvases emit a glow which make them experience transcendental & metaphysical .
I have exhibited my art works through 8 solo exhibitions including the one in USA under invitation and more than 20 group shows besides few art camps in India and abroad. Exhibitions beyond the country’s boundary have broaden my perspective and helped me adopt an approach to universal expression of my experiences, encounters & beliefs on canvas.
